My last post was well over a month ago and if you all recall I was having a good old moan about Smashwords. I’ve since moved on and been rather busy, per usual, with work and online courses (A lot of courses are a waste of money and time and I’ll be doing a post on that soon). The issue I had with Smashwords has been resolved, by myself of course. My book is available on the said platform so go ahead and make a purchase from here.
In the last 30 days I’ve produced some sales from physical copies of my book The Tribulations of Kharman. Colleagues have shown interest in getting a signed copy, which I retailed at £12.50 (a £0.49 pence difference when purchased on Amazon). So a physical copy from myself will be slightly cheaper, plus, as mentioned, it’d be signed. I even received £20.00 for one book from a friend/colleague! It’s hard to believe garnering this much support and appreciation for my work. Such generous actions really humble you.
Low Sales
Whenever someone asks me how business is going I always tell them the truth. I detail the methods I’m using, they may make some suggestions. I didn’t expect my book to sell like hotcakes so it’s hardly a surprise whenever I check the reports of each platform. And despite these low sales I’m still working on the second novel, which will be out next year (2022). It’s imperative that I continue the story, this mission of Kharman, however readers will learn it’s not just about Kharman and his efforts. The reader soon sees things from other characters’ POV. If anything The Tribulations of Kharman was an introduction to the Kharman character and a human’s perspective on the anthropoid Kyliean civilization. Later on we get to see Evree’s POV and the struggles she’s going through too. We learn more about Kharman’s character, that he’s not just a tourist immersed in an alien culture. There is so much more to this space opera universe I have created. You just need to take the plunge, make a purchase and read my book.
There’s a review on Goodreads so be sure to check it out here!
